Well guys and girls, that's it... all that build up, all that planning and all that money, and it's all over in three simple days! Simple, yet great days though!!
I have had an amazing Christmas this year! Christmas Eve was spent getting merry with my family, playing games and eating buffet food!! It even saw Mommy's first ever shot of Tequila - and judging by her reaction, her last ever shot of Tequila! I'd put up the photo of her face but I think she'd actually kill me - and then bring me back tot clean up the mess!!
An early wake up call from my sister, bouncing on my bed on Christmas morning, started off the ultimate present opening spree... anyone would think I liked to read, take one look at my pile of new books to add to my 'to be read' pile and there is no doubt that my favourite hobby is reading!!! I have nine new books in total! And I have my Mommy, my Daddy, My Auntie, my Grandad and Vicky to thank for the new reading material!
Bacon sarnies started the morning off before heading off to my Grandad's for family time :) We had yet more presents and then the ultimate Christmas dinner!!! Eight people, loads of pigs in blankets, too many sprouts and one kick ass bird! Plus, Sammy made cheesecake... Yep you heard right; cheese in a cake - plus her baby mandalins!!! Lol.
The afternoon made headway for Tyler's new games, we played several rounds of the new version of Monopoly, Empire! And I lost, drastically, every time; and I'm talking twice I didn't even have anything on the ground floor of my Empire, never mind building it up to take over the world!!!
Christmas night, I ventured out onto the dark and lonely streets to go see my girl! We opened our presents, of which there were plenty, and she got her telling off for being far too eager and buying her own DS earlier on in the month - as her amazing girlfriend had already bought her one for Christmas!! That'll teach her to buy new things just before Santa is due to come! It is safe to say that I have been spoiled rotten, and my presents, my advent calendar goodies and my girl's love shows that! I'm not sure the DS lives up to everything as seen as she already has one - but it ha to be the thought that counted... right?!
The rest of Christmas day was spent playing games at home, and me and Mum ruled at Pictionary, despite Dad and Sammy's valiant attempt.
Boxing day started much later, and involved me getting o bounce on Sammy's bed!! I totally pulled the 'the sky's awake, so I'm awake, so we gotta play' card and nearly scared her half to death because i crept up on her!!
We have had a much more chilled day today, less hectic - more turkey, loads more pigs and blankets and still too many sprouts!!! This time, me and Mum finished it off with a festive chocolate yule log and Bailey's cream!! Beautiful!!
Then we have watched Maleficent, at which I cried, again, we have started and nearly finished Mum's new jigsaw, we have watched Daddy's new John Bishop DVD and we have played some more games - including the tradition of Monopoly (Mum whitewashed us - no joke)
And to top it all off - it snowed!!!!! Yes you heard it - it is about a foot deep in snow outside and still coming down strong! I'd like to say that I am loving it, but there is a little part of me hoping it all disappears over night and waits till tomorrow night to do it again. As tonight should be my last sleep at home, before I venture into the big wide world to move in with Tara. It has been a long countdown and would be very annoying if I can't get my car off the drive way tomorrow! SO, here's hoping!
To the closing of one door, and the opening of another - Merry Christmas xx

Wednesday 17 December 2014
Christmas is almost upon us...
Just a quick one before bed... Two more get up's for work... plenty of boxes left to pack and move... sort out the food shop for Christmas dinner... payday... finish up the Christmas present shopping with a day out with Sammy... sort the last of the stuff to move before Christmas sets in... then deal with the hustle bustle of Christmas :D
I can't wait - it's so close now I can almost smell the turkey!!
My girl has made an awesome advent calendar for me to help countdown the days...
She's such a cutie - each cracker has a party hat, a joke a cute christmas sticker, and a handwritten clue for me to find a present for each day!
I think she outdid herself on day one... the clue led me to the car, where there was a box with this beautiful Charlie Bear inside!! To say my obsession with teddy bears is nearly as good as my obsession for books, I have never owned a Charlie Bear before, so he is extra special! Tick Tock now has pride of place on the bookshelf along with the books in their new home in the spare room!!
We totally bought a real tree... after the debate on how tall, and making sure it was fat enough - the challenge was fitting the little bugger in Tara's car! (A Daewoo Matiz for anyone who doesn't know) The man at the garden centre was very helpful, and after some discussion, it got put int he front eat with the seat laid back to make room for it :) It was a squish - but we were in!!
It looked good once it was decorated :) With handmade baubles I might add!! We had fun glittering and sticking to make our decorations! And it even has a penguin on the top instead of an angel :)
We also had plenty of fun taking photographs with the lights!! Call it sad, call it cute, we don't care - the photos that we ended up with looked really good!!
We got bundled up at the start of December for Lincoln's annual Christmas market and had a nice walk around in the freezing cold!! We didn't buy much other than food and fudge, but we had a laugh and a lovely walk and a ride on the bus with Santa... Don't ask!!
In other news, I went to the Works Xmas Do at the beginning of December too - I'm not gonna lie - it wasn't the best night we've ever had - the food wasn't great and the woman doing the disco was just plain scary... but we had a good night - and to top it off.. I came home to a Kitten! Yes, Tara has bought a kitten :) He is incredibly fluffy, unbelievably cute and a little terror, and he has well and truely settled into the little family. Meet Toby!
Anyway, more soon - but for now, it's off to bed, as I still have to get up in the morning - unlike some of us *cough cough* Sammy!! Who is hibernating for the next two days having finished before everyone else!! Such a part timer - can't be bad!!
Night all,
Louby xx

Sunday 30 November 2014
2014 is nearly over... make these last few weeks count...
Well that's another month over. One more to go before another year begins! How time flies?! So much seems to have happened this year; I can't wait to see what 2015 brings!
As for November, when I try and think about what I have done this month I actually struggle to think because Christmas seems to have taken over early this year. I have been so caught up in work stuff, sorting stuff for the big move and keeping going, that I have had to dig out the diary to remember what was this month because everything is turning into a bit of a blur!!
November actually started out with a whopping surprise from my girl :) She booked last minute tickets to take me to see Disney on Ice at the arena! I'm so spoiled!
As seen as Aurora wasn't there and Sleeping Beauty's fairytale was never mentioned as a princess story, Beauty and the Beast had to be my favourite part of the first half. And The Lion King ha to take first place as my favourite from the second half. The stories were amazing and the skating well, I wish I could skate like that!! What a dream - to be able to say that you were one f the Disney on Ice Princesses...
Tara, Sammy and I went to the Burgoyne Park Bonfire to see the fireworks! We braved the weather, put up with the rain and enjoyed the massive bonfire, awesome fireworks display, and even played with sparklers like the big kids that we are!!
At the weekend, Tara and I went to Bakewell, with the great intentions of walking around, looking in the shops, going for some lunch and then going to feed the ducks. This started out as an amazing idea - the first problem was when I decided to have a massive blonde moment and direct us all the way out to Castleton! My tiny little blonde brain had mistaken Bradwell for Bakewell! So we took a very long drive to Bakewell, finally got parked and it decided to rain! So.. we had a lovely walk round in the rain, and ducked in ad out of shops... had our photographs taken with the toy soldier :) and went to a rather posh tea rooms for some lunch. Yeah, we didn't really fit in there, and have vowed to stick to pubs in future!!
After lunch came the duck feeding - now to say how much Tara wanted to feed the ducks - somehow I was the one who ended up with the bag of bread. Go figure - the person who can't go near bread wanted to feed the ducks!!! I got attacked by seagulls, and the three poor, lonely ducks barely got a luck in! I actually feared for my life!!
Afterwards we went for a drive in Sheffield to find the most expensive street. We found it, and boy were the houses big!! One even had an outdoor swimming pool. A tiny one (compared to the rest) was up for sale - £660,000 - yeah right - dream on eh?!
After finding Prince Naseem's £9 million house and trying to get a photo of that, we went for a walk in the woods :) acted like big kids and took some silly photos before going home and relaxing in front of the TV in our Jim Jam's.
Our next venture was buying a fish tank and some new fish because the one that Tara won from the Bonfire killed mine - yes I'm sticking with this story and not believing that it was just his time. So we now have a big shiny tank with new fishies in and mum's remaining Pleco fish. They are all settled in and about ready for new tank mates I think!!
I saw my baby boy this month too :) Momma and Chris went out to finish their Christmas shopping so I got him all to myslef for half of the day! We ha a lovely lazy morning in out PJ's watching the TV. Had some lunch and then went for a nice long walk and a play in the park. We collected leaves and he even brought me a feather! It was lovely to see him running around and playing out in the park - too many kids these days spend too much time inside :)
He even had a little hug from a tree on the way home! Bless him, he was a foot shorter by the time we got back - we walked two miles, and I only carried him a short distance, because he's getting too big to carry for long now! He was so good I was so proud of him. See Chris, we survived!!
The only other things I have done this month are some decorating for mum - yes, I single handedly stripped the bathroom wallpaper and painted it :) I felt very proud afterwards. I have also put together a bookshelf and nailed it together on my own too... See I am able to do these things...
I have also nearly finished my Christmas shopping! I have done a couple of stages and have one last trip left to do, but it's nearly done and I can start wrapping - I think this is the most organised I have ever been!
My November Instagram challenge went well - check it out on my Instagram page (the link is available in my profile section on the right hand side). As for next month, after trawling Google for a December one, I decided to create my own as they are all the same and I did one last year. I wanted something a little different. So here it is:
Feel free to join in and use my ideas, it would be great to see some of the different ideas that people think up. I love to see how one idea can be taken in so many different ways. If you would like your images to appear on my blog over the coming month then feel free to send me your photos and I will upload some with others from the same day to show just how different these ideas can be taken!

Stitch also made a couple of appearances - he was so funny, banging the gong and annoying Mickey and Minnie!!

It's Official!!
Christmas is here!!
Now I know I'm normally a Scrooge until the 1st of December... but this year I have been in quite high spirits for a while. This is not to say that I have been all about Christmas - but I had started my Christmas shopping in October... I have lists of all the things I need to buy for everyone, and I have my Christmas list written...
And to make it official - this aired on ITV yesterday!!
Advert belongs to Coca Cola and is viewed through YouTube
(no copyright intended)
So, as seen as I am in the festive mood anyway, and the Coca Cola advert is now on TV, along with the very cute John Lewis advert with the Penguins - I think they actually have outdone themselves with the cuteness factor from last year - what do you think??

This years penguins definitely reach a whole new level of cuteness for me, though this advert is not to be confused with the Parody version that Tara sent to me - I'm not kidding I was in shock - so cruel!! Lol. We'll stick to happy penguins in love!!
So there it is - Christmas is only 45 days away - and I move in with my girl a few days later - December is going to be packed with things to do, at work, at home and with the move; making sure everything is ready :) I can't wait!! For all of it!!
Eek - I hope we get a white Christmas - that would make it perfect in my opinion!!

Happy Halloween
I know I'm a couple of days late, but you know what they say; it's better late than never!
Well, half term is over. I have crammed so much into the week it's unreal. Going back to work for a rest I think! Lol.
Monday I caught up with Jude and had drinks and biscuits while we put the world to rights!! We talk about all sorts in the short time we see each other every now and again! Definitely need to try not to leave it as long between each time in future though - catching up on a whole eight week half term was exhausting!!
Tuesday Sammy and I went shopping with Jayne and spent lots of pennies! We had a lovely wander around The Range and Meadowhall, and rather than window shopping, I started my Christmas shopping and then we went for Subways - who wants windows anyway eh#?!
After our shopping spree I went to Tara's and we ventured into Barnsley to Physcho's Den to see Tara's friend to get tattoos!!! I have a jigsaw piece now - to represent all the pieces of my life falling into place, and Tara has a piece that fits into mine :)
Wednesday proved to me that when I put my mind to something, I can accomplish them! Having organised a bike ride with Pete, and left the decisions up to him on where and how far, I had no choice but to put up and shut up when it came to the hills (I swear he was trying to bump me off)!
We went to Upper Derwent Valley and headed out around the Derwent Reservoir... and the Ladybower Reservoir! 12 miles! Yep you heard it right - 12 miles I cycled... and there was more than one damn hill, despite what Pete kept telling me!
Vernon came too, and enjoyed the views without ll the hard work :)
... And we found the awesomest sign ever - yes I have invented that word!
How epic is this?! >>>
Thursday saw a day relaxing with Rolo while I waited for the Virgin Media guys to show up at Tara's to fit the Wi-Fi! We watched Eight Below - I cried like a baby all the way through! We had some cuddles, watched some TV and I played on the internet with the newly founded internet once it had been fitted :) Then Tara and I went shopping for an Apple TV box so that we could curl up and start watching the second season of Orange is the New Black.
Friday - The day itself! Happy Halloween! Sammy and I got up nice and early and set off for Whitby! Yep, goth weekend managed to land right on Halloween this year because it was on a Friday!! My little pile of scrap metal made it all the way there in one piece bless it, and then we went to explore! We met Vicky there and headed off to check out some of the awesome costumes there this year!
We went for a walk around the market and Sammy drooled over some Creepers in the shoe place. We priced up outfits for next time - yes we are planning next year's already!! Then we went for a play in the arcades and found some ducks! Vicky added to her already huge collection, and Sammy got excited over a skeleton duck!!
I spent money on a new Gorjuss bag and then we went for some lunch before the hike up the Abbey. We climbed all 209 steps up to the Abbey before deciding that it was a little expensive for Sammy, and that we would do it properly next time and go exploring then. We also managed to squeeze in a quick walk on the beach! Vernon came too, though he has seen Whitby before, he still had to sneak along for the memories :) All in all a great day! I love Whitby and I love Goth Weekend!
Friday night Sammy and I went to pick Tara up to go and see Ouija at the cinema. It was pretty good, much better than The Babadook that Tara and I had seen earlier in the week as far as horror movies are concerned. And then after taking Sammy home, I surprised Tara by staying at hers over night ready to spend the day with her on Saturday!
Saturday Tara and I had a very lazy morning before getting ready for Jamie's Halloween Spooktacular party. We did our shopping, baked a cake (only to forget to take it with us later) and then spent forever getting ready with our great outfits!
Tara went as Billy the puppet from the Saw films, and I adjusted my Fallen Angel outfit from last year, added some different make up and face paint to create the 'thrown out of Heaven' look, and hey presto - this years Halloween costume!
We looked good - even if I do say so myself!!
Bring on November - follow my Instagram for some November fun withe the picture a day challenge! Let's see what randomness that brings - and I'm sure I can find one for December too :)

Create your own Destiny!
Well, using my new found internet access at my girl's house I thought I would write a blog post. I am supposed to be using the time to do some much awaited writing as I haven't really done any in a while and seriously need to crack on with it! But at the moment I am laid curled up on the sofa, in front of the fire, with Rolo snuggled up to my legs, (now that he has finished sniffing my laptop and leaving his wet nose prints all over the keyboard) I also need to get some more emails sent out for my first book as I have pretty much hit stale mate with all the submissions that I have sent so far. It's about time I pulled my finger out I think!
These words spring to mind...
These words spring to mind...
There are those who say fate is something beyond our command.
That destiny is not our own, but I know better.
Our fate lives within us,
you only have to be brave enough to see it.
Words spoken by a Disney Princess; they must be true!!
Princess Merida (Disney's Brave)
Well, whether I'm in control of it or not - I will reach my goal one day, I will see my books on the shelf of a book shop. It takes hard work and perseverance to reach a dream like the one I have, and I will get there eventually. I know I have a lot of work to do, and one day I will kick my self up the ass and actually get on with it at a better pace, but for now - there is no rush.
My dream may be a stretch towards the moon, but I'd settle for the stars!!
Bye for now,
Louby xx

A little bit of magic...
Well guys and girls... it is half term! Eight weeks into the new school year and it is about time for a week off. The sun is shining, the autumn colours are all around, and I have some great plans lined up to keep me busy!
As I know there will be lots to tell by the first of November, I am going to do my sum up of the beginning of the month for you. Starting with my month of creativity with my school lunches (basically trying to avoid sandwiches all the time) I was pretty much doing this anyway, but now the colder weather has come, I have introduced soup and left over stew for lunches to keep me warm at work! Work is still going great - I am loving every second of it!
Vernon even came to visit the other day! I kept him hiddied in my bag until after all the kids had gone home, but then he went for a little tour - he had a play on the climbing frame, sat on the desk and even stood on a cross for exercise! Take a look at some of the other pictures on Instagram with #vernonsadventure!
The last day of term was onesie day in support of Type 1 Diabetes! One little girl is one of only two children in Rotherham to be getting a new pump for her insulin that will help her to control her diabetes and dramatically cut down on the amount of insulin injections she has to have every month. The trn out of both children and staff in their pajamas and onesies was incredible! Of course I joined in, anything for something different, and in support of such a good cause too!
Back at the beginning of the month I also finally sorted enough money to fill my little pile of junk with petrol so that I could go see my Momma Kate ad Seth!!
The majority of the month has been spent decorating! Tara and I took on the job of decorating her spare room! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves stripping all the wallpaper and making a mess. Then we have proved that you don't need a man for these things; and filled all the holes in the wall, and then painted! Tara got all stroppy with the cutting in, so I have done most of that, and she has got most of the rollering done - apart from on Friday, when I did the cutting in and the rollering while she laid on the floor and played DJ Curtis! Oh the life of some - I'm not sure which one of us is more under the thumb!!
And although I don't really have any photos from the day Me and Tara spent getting lot in the rain at Clumber Park - I do have to share her blonde moment...
Whilst throwing things at me and me turning around to grumble at her, she tried to retend it was a conker falling from a tree... When I pointed out that the trees we were walking under were in fact Oak trees, so conkers couldn't be falling out of them, her come back was...
"Those damn oaks, falling on you!"
And the award for blondest moment of the month goes to?! I couldn't breathe for laughing! It took me a while to be able to explain that it was in actual fact acorns that fall out of Oak trees!! It's a good job I love her!!

Back at the start of the month, Tara and I went on an adventure to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park to see the new Polar Bear, Victor! He was so big, and covered in grass stains, it was amazing to see an animal like that so close up.
We had an ace day, without too much rain, and got to see all the animals. I think my favourite was possibly the little spider monkeys that were running around in the enclosure. This little fellow was called Dillan and was quite happy to sit and have his photo taken with me :)
Back at the beginning of the month I also finally sorted enough money to fill my little pile of junk with petrol so that I could go see my Momma Kate ad Seth!!
We donned our raincoats and boots and headed to the seaside in the rain ad wind! A little bad weather never stopped us having a good day! We played in the arcades and Seth got a new tractor and trailor, we went for a little walk and did some shopping and took some silly pictures :) Back at home Sethy didn't share his chocolate buttons, but let me have cuddles, so I can't complain too much!
And before bed we had a splashtastic time in the bath, where I am actually convinced that I would ave been dryer if I had gotten in the bath with him! I love seeing him in the water, and his little giggle is incredibly infectious when he gets going - my little water baby! The majority of the month has been spent decorating! And the award for blondest moment of the month goes to?! I couldn't breathe for laughing! It took me a while to be able to explain that it was in actual fact acorns that fall out of Oak trees!! It's a good job I love her!!
Well, bring on Half Term!
Speak soon, Louby xx

Happy Birthday Vernon!
Alright, I know I'm a day late with this post, but yesterday was a little bit hectic, and then I have had to transfer all the photos from my phone to the laptop before I could put them on here!
As you may or may not have known, yesterday, Sunday 19th October, was Vernon's first birthday! Yes, it has been a year since that lovely day in October last year that I came across the Fluffy Bearz stall at Matlock Bath Craft an Gift Fair. I don't need to go into the story - you all know it already - but for those of you who might be new to the blog, or to Vernon's Adventures, check out my New Year post where I talked all about Vernon and how he came to be mine, and how I decided to show him the country this year as part of my New Year's Resolution to be happy and live more in the moment.

This was the first photo I ever took of Vernon - he even still had his name tag on around his neck!
That day we explored Matlock Bath and took a trip up the Heights of Abraham where we took lots of pretty photographs. Vernon liked the waterfall, and loved the view from the top of the hill!
So, after that quick trip down Memory Lane, back to the present - To celebrate Vernon's birthday, I decided a trip back to Matlock Bath was in order! So, after a busy morning, Vernon, Sammy and I set off for Matlock in the car. My poor little pile of scrap metal barely got us up some of the hills on the way there; but we did make it in one piece.
Lovely weather to drive there - sun roof down and the whole shabang! We get there and get parked... and what does it do - it rains! So, in true spontaneity, we found something random to do - we went to the little aquarium! I think Sammy was more excited that Vernon was and she got a little over excited when we found Nemo and Dory!
Vernon and I preferred the Petrifying Well! The actual well is very pretty and the effects are almost unbelievable! Plus the lighting effects make it look a little eerie!
After the trek back down the other side of the hill, and finding a few rather random trees and other bits an bobs, we discovered that the path we had taken in the fist place was only a few hundred yards from where we now stood at the bottom... It didn't even take us anywhere - what a let down... but a fun hike through the woods - even if Sammy thought she was dying without her inhaler!!
Once back down at the bottom, Vernon and I found a little Band Stand where Sammy very kindly took a cute photo of us for his birthday :)
All in all, a pretty good day I think!!
Keep an eye out on Instagram for #vernonsadventure to keep up to date with all his exploring. Not long left now to get him to a few last places before another new year will start!
Bye for now, Louby xx

After our trip around the Aquarium, we headed outside and put up with the light drizzle. We went for a walk across the jubilee bridge, got ice cream and went for a walk in the woods. It made me laugh that we were walking part of 'Lover's Walk' with a bear, but the joke was on us by the time we had finished.
... After taking the cute little path to nowhere, which turned out to go up hill... a long way up hill.. we finally made it to the top (where Vernon and I were very naughty and wrote Happy Birthday on the fence for his memory photo!) Sammy discovered that we had to go back down the other side again...
