MIA

I'm Home!!  A weeks holiday up the East Coast at the caravan in Flamborough, a week of sun, sand, sea, adventures and so much laughter!!  I have had an amazing week, but boy has it been exhausting!  If you follow my Instagram then you will see some of my adventures with Sammy Jay, and I will throw a handful of the best ones in the bottom of this post, and then I am sure some others will pop up somewhere, sometime, possibly, I don't know... I'm rambling; I know - It has been a long and tiring week and I am looking forward to crawling into my own bed tonight, and then spending the day with Dean tomorrow :)  Then it is back to reality on Sunday when I go back to work - I need to make a plan for my life!

Step one - Sort out my books - I hope you've all bought the first two parts of The love that binds us, the third part will be available next weekend!  If you haven't yet then follow the link below and see what it's all about!
Amazon - The love that binds us
I'd love to hear some of your thoughts and opinions - who is your favourite character?  What do you think to the story?  Etc...
I have several new ideas in the making - We'll have to wait and see which one takes off.  I need to dedicate some proper time to writing.  When Mum and Sammy go back to work next week, I am going to work hard to make sure that I fit everything into my days.  None of this being lazy and wasting time like I have done for the Summer - it is time to make a writer out of myself!  To do that I need to make sure that I am writing at every available opportunity.  I want to make sure that I make the time for my writing, my course that I signed up for as I think that it will help with generating ideas and brushing up on my skills and techniques.

I also want to do several other things - I am feeling a timetabling session coming on - I need to write this stuff down and be sure that I can fit everything in.  I want to start up jogging again - properly this time.  Every day if possible; though I may have to work up to that as it has been a while again - but I do need to get back into shape!  There is work and family time and Dean time that are going to occupy my time and I also signed up to be Sammy's taxi service in a morning - best way to get me up and out of bed every morning!  I might even roll the jogging into the morning routine and then it is out of the way so that the rest of the day is mine for the taking... I do feel the need for a possible new planner :)  ANy excuse right?!

Anyway, here's the pictures I promised - some of the best bits :)
Sammy and I went exploring Thornwick with Dean and Jacob...

The cafe at North Landing proved to be a favourite :)

Sammy and I spent a lot of time down in Thornwick Bay - or more specifically, in Little Thornwick, and trying to get into the secret cove through the walls... We managed it - this morning!  Haha, nothing like last minute - it only took us about four attempts!  Talk about issues!  Mother Nature was just taking the mickey out of us I think - tide was ridiculous!  But we had fun none the less, exploring and taking pictures - and Sammy totally fell in the sea whilst doing her exploring!  Lmao - I'm not going to lie - I laughed, hard!!

We visited the Lighthouse at Flamborough Head at night so that we could watch the lights :)

All in all - an amazing holiday!!

And now - it is bed time!

Goodnight readers,
Louby xx

My photo skills are back!!

Well my days, August is flying by and I have crammed so much in already it's unreal, and there is still my holiday to come yet!  So, I decided to write up August up to now, as at the end of the month I will be rambling on about the caravan and Thornwick!!

Where to start?!  Well, to put into perspective just how much I have managed to do these last couple of weeks, let's start with the fact that I have worked over sixty hours in August so far!  Not bad to say that I only have an eight hour a week contact eh?!  I'm pulling more hours now than I was at school with a full time job!  I'm not complaining, I'm hoping it al pays off in the pay check, and I am filling any and every spare moment with plenty of exciting adventures!  I started last week with my three days off and I escaped to the seaside for two of them!
On Wednesday Pete and I headed for Robin Hood's Bay, though after some serious traffic and Pete's stupid sat nav taking us on the most obscure journey ever, it was mega busy, so we tootled up the road and went into Whitby for a play on the beach instead. I got to see the Abbey from a different perspective, and got to thinking about seeing things through other people's eyes.  It was quite nice to go somewhere that is pretty familiar to me, but with someone who I had never been with before, because you got to see it in a whole different light.
We went for a walk on the beach and I got to splash in the water, and we wet in search of the fossilised crocodile that is supposedly on the beach!  Did we find it?  Well that is up for discussion - can you see it?  We thought we could, but then again, it could have just been a pretty pattern in the rocks...

At the end of the day we went via Robin Hood's Bay for a walk down the hill and onto the sand.  We had a nosey in a few rock pools and then looked in the gift shops on the way back up to the car.  I eve bought ice creams at the top.  That hill is no where near as steep as I remember it to be - I think it was all about perspective!

The following day I drove out to Mablethorpe to see Dean, and to meet his parents and 'the boy'.  I think it went well.
After the introductions, Dean, Jacob and I headed straight for the beach and played in the sand, and in the sea!  My God was it cold at first, but we soon acclimatised, and I ended up soaked (fully clothed of course) - Then when we had buried each other, chased each other up and down the beach and exhausted the splashing wars, we dried off and got changed before heading into Mablethorpe.  We went out on a pedal boat and Dean proved that he needed 'L' plates to drive a swan, we played crazy golf, (and I'm not gonna lie, Jacob and I cheated) We had chips for lunch, we played in the arcades and won Jacob some tickets and then we scarred him for life by taking him to the fair.  He wasn't a fan of the Waltzer I'll tell ya!  He liked the Twister though - so I guess I'll let him off.
After some time at the caravan and tea, Dean and I went for a walk down the sea front and watched the sun set - pretty romantic I'd say!!   :)

It was an awesome day, and I think it went well!

The adventures continued on Sunday when Sammy, Stacey, Hayden and I headed for Flamingo Land!!!
We had an amazing day, scored some beautiful weather, went on some crazy rides - Hayden even managed to get Sammy and I on a ride that we hate!  He has one of those faces that you struggle to say no to!  Haha.  It wasn't quite as bad as I remembered, but I still wouldn't be rushing to go on it again!
We saw the Sea Lion show and I was in awe on Merlin!  I had no idea that they were so clever and so strong - he lifted his whole body weight off the platform on his front fins!  And his seal impression was hilarious!
And to add to our geek factors - Sammy and I got ponchos to go on the log flume!  People were drenched coming off the ride, it was hilarious to watch from the queue.  I stayed pretty dry, my poncho tactics were on point - Sammy on the other hand failed miserably!  She was soaked haha!  I didn't laugh - much!

By Monday I was knackered from all the driving, but got to spend another day at the seaside, this time with the family and my puppies!  We had a great day in Skeg, played on the beach, went for a walk, had chips and ice cream and even got Daddy on the Waltzer!
Talk about kill or cure - I've never know one where the car spins the same way for the entire ride, and with some decent force!  We couldn't walk straight by the time we got off again!  Haha - loved that Daddy came with us though :)

Thursday after work, Sammy and I went out with Dean.  We went bowling (I lost miserably) we played in the arcades, we had some tea and then we went ice skating.  We did good!  No-one fell over, not even Dean, and he even picked up some speed by the end!  I still can't go backwards though - it's proving more than my bad co-ordination can handle!

And to bring us up to date - Dean and I went for our first proper adventure on Thursday!  We picked a place that neither of us had ever been before and just got in the car and went for it.
We went to Old Mother Shipton's Cave and had a lovely morning walking around the grounds and taking lots of silly photos with all the props and carvings there.  Not gonna lie, the 'cave' was a bit of a let down to us - it was just a hole in the wall... but the wishing well and the petrifying waterfall were beautiful.  I had to read all the boards on the way around the nature trail and the story behind Old Mother Shipton is pretty cool to be honest.  After a walk around Knaresborough we got back in the car and ended up in York where we went for a walk around in the afternoon sunshine, spent some money in the market, had some lunch and took some more photos before heading back to Deans for movie night!

And then I have put in some more hours at the Co-op!! Busy, busy busy!  I have a half five start in the morning too - what is that!?  I had no idea there were too five o' clocks in one day!!  Not right!  Anyway, I think there are enough photos there to say that I have kicked it back up a notch with the photo taking when I'm out and about haha!

One last one though - if you haven't already - go buy the first part to my book from Amazon and get reading!  I'd love to hear some of your opinions, and feel free to leave reviews on Amazon itself!

Till next time,

Louby xx

My first ever book is available on Amazon as a Kindle Edition!  Find it by searching either the title or Angel McGregor, or follow the link below!  I want to hear feedback!

July in a nutshell!

They say that happiness comes when you least expect it, from places you never imagined and through doors that you didn't realise you'd left open...  It's true that happiness breeds more happiness, if you can be happy with what you have, happiness in other areas of your life just seems to find you and everything falls into place!  I know this now, I had just about got my head on straight and sorted myself out so that I was happy with the cards I had been dealt.  As per usual I looked for the silver lining in my situation and found it in the form of my writing.  Having gotten my head around all of that, I was happy!  And then, to make everything that little bit better, a door opened to something else, and I honestly don't think that I have stopped smiling since!  Life is pretty good!

So, July has been full of surprises, though to be honest, I think that most of it has been covered as I have posted about my adventures several times already during the month.  These last few days crammed with Co-op based stuff though!  On Thursday we went out for the leaving do I mentioned in the last one, and true to my word, I took some photos!  I went to meet Adam, Rachel and Ben at the pub for a few drinks before the meal, and left my car at home so that I could join in!!  Dean joined us before taking us to the Elmwood - Ben pimped it up in the back with Rachel and me, and Dean scared us with his driving!!  We had drinks in the sunshine and I got my first photo of Dean and me - he is good at avoiding my camera!!  And after the meal we all sat out in the sunshine, drinking and talking and watching Chelsea slowly get more and more wasted, bless her!!

On Saturday, Callum and I ran the Co-op stall at Aston Carnival!  We had a blast and loved it, despite the torrential down pour that attempted to dampen the mood!  Having spent most of Friday in and out of work, shopping for a gazebo with Dean, moving stock around and backing and bagging cookies, I rolled into work at half seven on Saturday morning and loaded up my poor little car with all the stock and stuff for the carnival!  Callum and I headed down to Lodge park for eight and we put up the gazebo.  Now I say 'we' - what actually happened was he stood and read the instructions to me while I crawled around on the floor and put it all together haha - Team work at its best and all that :)  We did it though - got the stall up and ready in no time, and even had time for breakfast before the events kicked off!
And of course we had fun while we were working!  Callum wrote on the balloons!  We had the attack of the helium and some funny voices - Ben came down to see us and had to bring more stock because we sold out of some of the stuff we'd taken with us...  By the time Dean got to us the day was nearly over...  And to say we'd been there hours - Dean had been there five minutes before he decided that he'd had enough!  Lightweight!  But after a while longer, we packed up and headed back to the shop, worked out all the money and put everything away - and nine and a half hours after clocking in, I clocked out and went home!!  What a day!  To celebrate - Dean took me out for food and the pictures :)  Nandos!!

I am now putting in more hours that I know what to do with at work - I can't wait to see the pay check!!  I now have three days off and intend to spend them having some adventures!  Seaside here I come!!

The book is almost ready to go online... I am well excited about that too - as you may or may not have noticed... Not long now!!

Till next time,
Louby xx
